I thought I'd have a look at where things stand with some of Duquesne's top recruiting targets and give a little bit more background to connect the name with the player.
Tra'vaugh White 6'0'' JUCO PG
White led all of junior college in scoring this past season with 26.1 PPG and around 2 assists per game. He visited Duquesne last week and Southern Illinois this past weekend. Creighton is supposed to be interested as well, but they have yet to offer. There is no time table on his decision. Formerly committed to Sam Houston St and St Bonaventure, he is rated the #42 JUCO of the class of 2013 by JucoRecruiting.com
Devin Brooks 6'2'' JUCO PG
Brooks is a versatile PG who scores, rebounds and passes well. He is being courted by a number of schools from the Valley as well as Creighton and Auburn and is among the most hotly pursued JUCO guards on the market right now. He is rated the #58 JUCO by JucoRecruiting.com.
Jon Severe 6'2'' SG
Most of you will be familiar with Severe's recruitment so far. He looked like a lock to be an A-10 player, but thanks to a great senior season at Christ the King that landed him Mr Basketball in NY has Severe in the sights of a number of highly regarded programs. He cut his list and Duquesne, Fordham and GW are all still on it along with Pitt, Kansas St, WVU, Rutgers, and Creighton. He will announce his decision on May 22nd. He described Duquesne as like family so that can't be a bad thing.
