Per Corey Albertson of the Rivals Network and Triple Double Prospects, Duquesne got it's 6th commitment and signature for the class of 2013 from IMG Academy center Darius Lewis. Lewis is a big bodied post player standing 6'11 inches and weighing rougly 240 pounds.
Lewis is a virtual unknown and has had a rather quiet recruitment for a player his size. He may be something of a late bloomer as Albertson points out in a piece on IMG from February. Described as tough, somewhat athletic and strong, his recruitment was beginning to pick up steam heading into the late signing period. Albertson reports other mid major interest.
While I've never seen him play, I suspect Lewis will be a bit of a project as a freshman and I don't think it's out of the question that he could redshirt to help balance the classes. Of course, his size alone could allow him to play immediately and hopefully, his work ethic will allow him to develop nicely. He'll be one to keep an eye on at the Pro-Am this summer.
Lewis and the rest of his IMG Academy teammates visited Duquesne for the Charlotte loss.
